I'm no racer, well not since I raced bmx bikes, but that ended when I was 12. I'm 32 now, and have been riding road bikes for about 12 years. Mostly for commuting and recreation. I'm 5'9" 155-160 pounds, and have a bony butt. All of the seats I've used have left me hurt and numb in multiple areas, so I decided to look all over the internet to find out what people said about pain, numbness, and what not. There are a lot of opinions out there, and even though I try not to be a sheep and do what everyone else does, I decided to get a b17. There are definately mixed revues out there, but not from me.

I ordered the proofide and saddle from different places, and since the saddle came first, I had to try it out without the proffide. This saddle was the best saddle I've ever used right out of the box. Yes, it feels, looks, and sounds hard compared to most saddles. It is not. 50 miles in, I was in heaven. Haven't had any numbness or pain since I got this. The way it's made makes it more like a shock absorber on a car then any modern saddle out there. The plastic support of modern saddles just doesn't flex like this does when it's needed to flex. I'm sold on brooks. A team pro will be my next purchase.

I had never heard of the B17 bicycle saddle but the girls at the Team Estrogen forum swear by this bicycle saddle. Almost to the point where you'd think they were hypnotized.

I wasn't convinced at first, but after trying two other slightly more conventional saddles I gave in and ordered a B17. I drank the kool-aid now as I love this seat. Words can't describe other than to say yes they are as good as everyone tells you and you won't regret it, at least that's my opinion.

Put one of these Brooks B17 Saddles on my first bike and put a little over 10,000 miles on it in less than a year, the brooks handled it in all conditions, I am on bike number 2 and it is considerably better bike than the first, but again i went with a Brooks B17 and for comfort it is hands down the best. now i have one on my touring and one on my ss.

Highly Recommend.
